As the scriptures exhort, be as those in Berea, test the spirits and see if I write on my own authority or Another’s. Nothing is true because I have written it, but if it is true, it is the Lord who speaks.
Much of Mainstream Churchianity Says:
“B. The Godhead
We believe in one God – eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and
omnipresent, existing as three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one in nature,
attributes, power, and glory.
1. God is one in being (monotheism), but three in persons (trinitarianism).
Mark 12:29-30; Matthew 28:18-20.
2. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.
Acts 5:3-4; I Corinthians 8:6; Hebrews 1:8
3. The Three Persons are coequally divine (ontological trinity). John 10:30.
4. There is a functional order to carry out the divine purpose of the trinitarian God
(economic trinity)
a. The Father sent the Son. John 13:16; 14:28
b. The Father and the Son sent the Spirit. John 14:26; 15:26”
But the truth is:
“’The Lord is one,’ and His name one.” Zechariah 14:9
There is no disagreement that God is one being. Though there is a certain plurality that characterizes God, He is not Trinitarian. God is not three persons in one. Such a view is not monotheistic, it is a qualified polytheism. The basis for this bold statement that flies in the face of all mainstream churchianity, that God is not three persons in one, is founded upon the very structure of our being.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-27
You, dear reader, are created in the image of God. Are you three persons in one? No matter how you cut it, no, you are not. You are one person with three parts. So is God, for He was such before you were. Your three parts include your living soul, your physical body and the spirit of life first breathed into Adam by God. Your soul is your head, the seat of your will, emotions, and all things that stem out if it. Your physical body is the manifest image, the outward expression, of your unseen parts. Though your physical form is not wholly you, it is what we see when we see you and so is the form that we directly identify as you. The spirit of life from God which was given to and corrupted by Adam and passed to you is the common bond uniting your physical and metaphysical parts. It manifests as the directed impulses from your soul to your body, causing the perceived animation that is at the very least, breathing. The soul is divided from it at death and in its absence, the body is a lifeless mass.
God the Father is the Head to which our souls correspond. He calls the shots and tells the Body what to do, empowering it to obey His commands with the Spirit He supplies. Jesus Christ, the Son of God is the Body of God, the image of the invisible God and the part of God directly in contact with the things He created. He is who we see when we see the unseen parts of God. The Spirit of God is the part of Him that proceeds from the Father and Son to all of His children to instruct and quicken us all to obey those same commands as obedient children; commands which He also has spoken by His own mouth. This brief description is by no means exhaustive as the depth of God’s person and character, so much as words have yet been used to describe, is more fully written by the ministry of His Spirit in the scriptures. Jehovah is One God as One Person with three parts. Anything else is a lie.
