“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common”
(Acts 2:44)

Why is having all things in common, being of one mind and of one accord mentioned of those following Christ about fourteen times in the New Testament? You would think to mention it so many times would mean that it is not only possible, but important! And why, in light of this, is it that we see an estimated 38,000 denominations that all teach different doctrine but all say that they are followers of Christ? Is there more than one way to Christ? In Romans 8:29-30 Paul says, “For whom He foreknew, He also preordained to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” So first He preordained us to the image of His son and then He actually calls us to do it, “Moreover whom He preordained, these He also called; “ What does Jesus say of this? Jesus said , “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”(John 14:6) So if Jesus says he is it then, “is Christ divided?”(1 Corinth. 1:23) I say no, “for God is not the author of confusion”(1 Corinth. 14:33) and is not Christ the one head and therefore the one mind of his one true body?(1 Corinth. 11:3) So it is concluded that the true followers of Christ have been preordained since before time began to be conformed to the one image, one way, one truth, one life, one mind, one body and will “have all things in common.” In this truth, having about 38, 000 separations “in Christ”, one must stop and ask themself if they are truly following Christ.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”(Matt.16:24)
